So, who the heck is Charles?

I’m a Software Developer with a background as an Electrical Engineer within the nuclear, automotive, and utility industries. Motivated by my passion for self-improvement, and building great things, I was inspired to learn more about the capabilities and advancements of software development to strategically and creatively solve problems.

Able to think outside the box and apply different perspectives, I aspire to impact the unknown through my work. Making people say “I didn’t even know I needed this” - whether it be building upon past concepts or new ones, the challenge is something I do not shy away from.

In my free time, I enjoy photography and videography. A few other passions of mine include: living a healthy lifestyle through fitness and sports, furthering my adventures through gaming, trying new foods, learning new things, seeing new places, and meeting new people.

Starting off as a new grad in Roger's Digital New Grad Program, I worked as both a Data Cloud Developer and Front End Developer before settling into my current role as a Developer for Rogers' Digital Business Team.

As an associate instructor for General Assembly's Immersive Program, I supported students' learning initiatives, provided lessons, solved problems, fixed bugs, performed code reviews, and graded projects/assessments/deliverables.

General Assembly's Software Engineering Immersive Certificate Program - 480+ hours spent learning and applying Front-end, Back-end, and Full-stack development.

Prior to attending General Assembly's Software Engineering program, I spent this time completing multiple online courses and certifications to build my foundation in software. From Google's IT Automation Certification, to Harvard X's Computer Science for Artificial Intelligence Professional Certificate.

As a Project Engineer at Honda, I had the opportunity to perform a risk-assessment for one of Honda's largest initiatives.
UOIT 2012 - 2017

While attending the University of Ontario Insitute of Technology, I was awarded Dean's List all academic years, successfully built a Smart Home Controller prototype while completing my Bachelor's of Engineering in Electrical Engineering.
